Testimony : Nestlé Waters Italy chooses Sleever to accelerate its ecological transition

Nestlé Waters places ecological transition at the heart of its strategy. The group has set ambitious goals to reduce energy consumption at its San Pellegrino site in Italy, where Levissima mineral water is packaged. The recent choice of Sleever equipment, a long-term partner, helped meet this challenge.

According to Mr. Filippo Cesari, Site Manager at San Pellegrino/Nestlé Waters Italy, “We chose Combisteam LDET®: a decision driven by the goal of reducing environmental impact, achieving energy savings, and maximizing production efficiency. Even in the face of the challenges presented by the health crisis, with perfect remote communication, Sleever allowed us to achieve the expected results.”

The choice of this equipment allowed San Pellegrino to meet two major objectives in its specifications:

1/ Significantly reduce energy consumption by 60%, transitioning from a machine with a double shrink tunnel consuming 500 kg of steam/h to a single tunnel with a consumption of 150 kg of steam/h. This technology includes a system to adjust the tunnel height to the product’s height and regulate consumption based on the format, combined with a condensate recovery system to further optimize consumption.

2/ Benefit from great flexibility:

• In the use of sleeve products: from existing films to new-generation products supporting closed-loop recycling of PET bottles, such as the full-body sleeve LDPET®.
• In implementing bottles of various shapes and capacities.
• In integrating modules, such as a drying module, to improve line efficiency.

The success of such industrial projects relies on a solid and lasting relationship with partners. “Constant dialogue and support make the difference,” says Cesari in explaining the choice of Sleever.
